LAPPI, Pietro
Pietro Lappi (ca.1575 - 1630) - Italian composer. Pietro Lappi was from 1593 choirmaster in Santa Maria delle Grazie in Brescia. He mostly composed sacred music. The only exception is the op. 9, with 22 Canzoni da Suonare a 4-13 stromenti, book 1, printed in Venice in 1616, an example of instrumental music in the style of the Brescia School. Another book by him printed in 1613 includes both works in the style of the late Renaissance and in the style of the early Baroque (modern style).
